I never knew I could want something and hate something so much at the same time.

A text I received from Heather last night as I recovered from a wisdom tooth surgery…

Well, it’s almost 1230.  Finally going to bed.  Thanks to a Monster energy drink, I was able to stay awake for a 5-hour cram session.  Thankfully, wake-up isn’t till 0500 since our test is tomorrow.  So I’ll at least get a few hours of sleep.  Crash time!

Test tomorrow is module 4.  It’s over 9 chapters.  Crazy hard.  Tons of memorization. I’m exhausted.  I hope I do well.  Pray for me.

From last night:

I passed my test today!  I have another test Tuesday over the next 7 chapters.  Gosh, we are just driving through this stuff.  It normally takes around a year to pass the EMT course and we are doing it in like 7 weeks.  Crazy. I’m so exhausted.  Lights out is at 2100 and wake up is 0330 because we have PT in the morning at what I like to call “zero dark thirty” haha.  I need rest. Sorry I can’t update as much as I want to.

Anonymous asked: how long was training? what did you do? where did you do it? sorry for all the questions just curious

Basic Training is 10 weeks long, and Heather trained at Fort Jackson in SC.  If you look up the tag “pv2greenupdate”, you can see her daily journal about everything that went on in Basic Training!

The Phases of Training

Blue Phase (the end of BCT) is considered Phase 3.  Now that Heather is in AIT, she is in Phase 4.  In 3 weeks, she will be allowed to phase up to Phase 5 if she remains in good standing, passes PT tests, and has over a 70% average on her tests.  Soldiers phase individually, not as a group.  Once soldiers reach Phase 5, they are allowed to wear civilian clothing and have weekend passes, as well as some other privelages.

Heather would like me to notify you all….

Just got done working out.  Wake up is at 0330 so I need rest!  Tomorrow is dental appointments and final in-processing.  Start classes Wednesday and next week we have a test over the first 7 chapters of our EMT book.  I’m so exhausted haha.  But I’m loving AIT much more than BCT!

Being a Christian is so much harder than people think it’s cracked up to be.

That’s all I have to say.

Mail Time

Heather would like me to let everyone know that, even though she’s in AIT, you can still message her if you’d like!  She can even receive care packages, as nothing is considered contraband!  If you want the address, send an ask or some fan mail and I will get you in touch!

Shakedown!

This was the shake down. They took all candy drinks food and civilian stuff (clothes showed glasses makeup and stuff) we wont see it again until we phase. Well not the food. The platoon sergeants ate all the cheese its and girl scout cookies and candy by now I’m sure. Haha
